Vintage Persian Kashan Pictorial Lake Landscape Rugrug no. 10990

Description

The detailed narrative scene portrays a gondolier navigating a wooden boat along a deep lapis-blue canal passing under a brick arch bridge. Multi-story villas with Venetian-gothic windows, pink-domed pavilions, and terra-cotta roofs are embedded among tall Italian cypress trees and rolling alpine hills beneath a dark sapphire night sky filled with soaring birds. The foreground features a rich garden filled with blooming red poppies, weeping willows, and botanical shrubbery. Woven with finely spun wool on a tight cotton foundation, the composition is executed as a seamless full-field vignette without conventional carpet borders, framed only by a vibrant crimson selvedge—perfectly proportioned for decorative wall hanging or display.
